Good morning all,

With the presidential election now less than a day away, it seems that all things in life come with a presidential twist. I’m sure that many, if not most conversations these days are dominated by or at least include some reference to the upcoming election and of course it is impossible to watch five minutes of television with out coming across a some form of politically sponsored content.

In keeping with this recent spirit of presidentialism, I thought it might be interesting to take a look back at one of our founding fathers, the quintessential president if you will, George Washington. And to take this look, through the lens of our passion here at Madison Seating, furniture.

Trick or Treat!

I believe that Halloween is many things to many people. As a kid growing up, Halloween was obviously all about the costumes and candy. As I got older, my diminishing interest in the “Treat” factor greatly increased my tendency to “Trick”,  candy bar received or not. And Just when you hit that age when you have lost most of your interest in both “Tricking” and “Treating”, that is when it seems the cyclical nature of life’s little ironies comes full circle, and the haunter becomes the haunted, and now you are the one who cringes every time the doorbell rings…

The High Point Furniture Market, the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, brings more than 85,000 people to High Point, North Carolina, every six months to peruse the nearly 10 million-plus square feet of prime furniture showroom space, spread over 180 buildings.

But perhaps the single most crucial and fundamentally telling aspect of last nights proceedings, was the fact that all this took place sitting down!
